He walks in the night, looking for the light,
For someone to show the star,
That will take to a place
That seems so far.

He walks alone, he is left out in the unknown,
He’s nobody, ain’t got nobody
In this world who cares for him.

No ones could ever survive
To this way of life
And yet he fights for his rights
To be safe, to be loved, to exist.

The tears he cries
In the dark street where he lies
Roll in the dust like diamonds and pearls,
No one will ever find.

Dry the tears, give them love
Give them life for the joy of a smile.

And dry those tears, stop the hunger and the pain
For they are the heart of Vietnam
